Stephanie Buchner is a lighting designer for theater, dance, and opera based in Brooklyn, New York. Stephanie is currently attending New York University, working towards an MFA in Design for Stage and Film.

Recent designs include: Antigonick directed by Mark Jackson and Hope Mohr (Shotgun Players),  the west coast premiere of Idris Goodwins' Blackademics directed by Mina Morita (Crowded Fire Theater) and the world premiere of  Chris Chen's The Late Wedding directed by Marissa Wolf  (Crowded Fire Theater) and AMP: Meet Me Normal choregoraphed by Loni Landon for LEVYdance. Peter and the Wolf and Queen of Knives (Sharp and Fine), Bright New Boise and The Arsonists (2013 Bay Area Critics Circle Award Winner) (Aurora Theater), She Rode Horses like the Stock Exchange, 410[GONE]Songs of the Dragons Flying To Heaven (Bay Area Critics Circle Award Nominee)  and  The Taming (Crowded Fire Theater),  By and ByThe Great Divide, Heart Shaped Nebula and Precious Little for Shotgun Players and SOAR for LEVYdance (SF and DC).

She has designed for many Bay Area companies such as Cutting Ball, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, Copious Dance Theater, The San Francisco Opera Center,  Just Theater, Bay Area Children's Theatre, Douglas Morrison Theater, Marin Theatre Company, Impact Theatre, Dance Monks, Brava Theater, Berkeley Playhouse, Black Box Theatre and Women's Will. In addition to her design work, Stephanie has associate and assistant designed for productions at  Berkeley Rep, California Shakespeare Theater and Marin Theater Company.                     Stephanie was the lighting associate for the 2014-2015 US tour of Tristan and  Yseult produced by Kneehigh Theater Company and is a Resident Artist of Crowded Fire  Theater.
